Fuad Gashamov, FCIArb is the Founding Partner of Legalize Law Firm, where he leads the firm’s international arbitration and cross-border disputes practice. He is an attorney-at-law admitted to the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), and is included in the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) Database of Arbitrators.

Mr. Gashamov holds an LL.M. in Dispute Resolution from the University of Aberdeen (United Kingdom) and has more than 15 years of experience advising businesses, investors, and state-related entities in complex domestic and cross-border disputes.

His practice focuses on international commercial arbitration, construction and infrastructure disputes, cross-border litigation, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, and strategic commercial dispute resolution. Mr. Gashamov has acted as arbitrator, counsel, co-counsel, and legal expert in proceedings conducted under the rules of the LCIA, ICC, SIAC, SCC, ISTAC, and TIAC, as well as in dispute board proceedings arising from FIDIC-based construction projects. His experience spans disputes involving parties from Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Middle East, and Asia.

Before founding Legalize in 2021, Mr. Gashamov held senior positions at leading law firms and in-house legal departments, developing broad experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Legalize has been recognised by IFLR1000 as a Notable Firm (2025), reflecting the firm’s growing reputation in the legal market and the collective efforts of its team.

Alongside his legal practice, Mr. Gashamov is an Adjunct Lecturer in dispute resolution and international commercial arbitration at Baku State University and Western Caspian University. He is also actively involved in professional and policy initiatives through the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan, AmCham Azerbaijan, and the Turkic Arbitration Association.

Mr. Gashamov works in Azerbaijani, English, and Turkish, and has a working knowledge of Russian.
