Akzhan Sargaskayeva is a Partner at GRATA International China and a qualified Kazakhstani attorney with extensive experience advising Chinese investors and multinational corporations on cross-border transactions across Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Her practice covers corporate, labour, antitrust, and contract law, as well as matters governed by the Acting Law of the AIFC and the representation of clients before the courts of Kazakhstan, the AIFC Court and the IAC.
Akzhan has advised on major renewable energy, mining, and infrastructure projects, including wind and solar developments, mineral acquisitions, and EPC projects. She oversees China-related projects across the region, leading a team of nine professionals and strengthening the firm’s cross-border capabilities.
Prior to joining GRATA International, Akzhan worked with leading Kazakhstani law firms, private companies, the AIFC Authority, and a corporate finance advisory firm in London. She is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh Law School, a member of the North Kazakhstan Chamber of Legal Consultants “ZANGER” and the AIFC Court and IAC Young Lawyers’ Users Committee, and holds rights of audience before the AIFC Court and the IAC.
